In September of 2013, the members of Sunflo’er moved into an old victorian house in Upstate New York with plans of shelving their previous four years of material in favor of something more emotionally engaging. A new set of tunes was crafted. The result is a tonally dynamic composition which maintain ins the basic tenets of heavy music. Bearing the street address of their haunted dwelling, complete with clanging pipes and slamming doors, 1963 is Sunflo’er’s debut full-length foray into left-of-center extreme music, courtesy of Magnetic Eye Records.

Though not specifically a concept album, great scrutiny was invested during the composition of 1963 to ensure it would be enjoyed best from start to finish - exactly the way it’s performed live. Solo guitar interludes pave the way for Converge style rock ‘n roll grooves, while the group takes cues from Circle Takes the Square in crafting their abstract, though deliberate, vocal contributions.
